Water supply, is it easily accessible for installing and connecting the shower.

Walls, are they clear of old decoration and plaster/render in good condition.

Floor is it strong enough to take the extra weight or does it need strengthening?

Waste, Can you get to it? Is the drain able to run the water away from the shower?

Electricity, is there any electrical wiring under the shower area or in the wall where you are working? If so, consider moving it now as it will be much easier.

Is the general working area clean and clear of unnecessary clutter?

If any of the above need sorting get those done first. Taking time with the preparation stage will make a huge difference to the finished project.

Leave your new walk in shower in it's packaging so as not to loose or damage anything, of course check that everything is there in the first place.

After you have sorted all the above and that you are satisfied that the area is ready to install your walk-in shower. Get yourself a assistant as some of these cubicles can be very hard to assemble on your own.

Take your time with the whole process.

Read and understand the fitting instructions before starting and lay everything out, somewhere out of the way. You don't want to put your foot on the glass door and break it at this stage!
